Perfectly secluded by live oak trees lies the Turnberry Manor, whose architectural design is based on the country houses of England, but whose material is a true Texas statement. This grand estate showcases 12,000 square foot of white oak reclaimed beams and rift and quartered white oak throughout the home and is surrounded by Texas limestone and tile. The principal living spaces align the main axis: the entry, living room, kitchen and breakfast are visually connected by their cut stone wainscot, timer ceilings, oak paneling and plaster walls. One of the grand features of this residence is the library, inspired by a dovecote, a structure usually built in circular, square, and occasionally octagonal form intended to house pigeons and doves, the lofty timber frames balances the iron chandelier and expansive windows. The bookshelves match the reclaimed beams perfectly with white oak paneling.
